Letters,
Cigars, and Horses: A Living History Presentation of General U.S. Grant
Audience:
This
presentation is ideal for schools, homeschooling groups, historical
societies, libraries, museums, art galleries, social functions and
weddings, university and civic events, fundraisers, parades, National
Battlefield Parks, reenactments and theatre.
Structure:
This
presentation is customized to the age range, function and historical
knowledge of the audience. After
a brief introduction and survey of the General’s life before the Civil
War, the engagements, habits and contributions of the General are
explored through the use of lively and often humorous anecdotes, letters
and impressions of the time.
If
travel conditions allow, the general is available to arrive on the back
of his favorite horse, Cincinnati and set up a headquarters for the
audience to experience first hand.
An adequate outdoor field and an additional fee are required for
this engaging experience.
